C’est surment ce que certain vont hurler quand vous aurai lu la suite. Mais je tien a vous prevenir que c’est tres pratique (mais plein de chose etrange).
Il y a desormais un groupe PPGAC and Friends sur facebook. C’est moi qui l’ai crée… Voilà, c’est dit. Allez y frappez moi. Même pas mal.
Mais, sur facebook, vous verez c’est tres drole des fois, par exemple, en ce moment je suis en train de faire un quiz pour connaitre a quelle point je suis addicted to How I Met Your Mother. et en plus c’est beaucoup moins moche que myspace (vous inquitez pas, je ferai jamais un myspace pour ppgac (meme si un de mes PPGAC en a un)).
Ah oui, sinon, je suis aller dans un pub qui s’appelle le O’shannon a paris. Et bas c’était super nul, le videur devant m’a fait chier 10 minutes, parceque j’avais des drôles de zieux. Arf, voilà que je repart dans le “c’était mieux avant”, quand le pub du même nom a perpignan était plus sympa.

J’aime bien regarder des films, c’est vrai, j’en regardes beaucoup beaucoup beaucoup. C’est sûr, il y a beaucoup de gros cacas dans le domaine, mais des cacas on en trouve partout.
Le problème, c’est que je trouve de plus en plus de cacas.
En faite j’ai remarqué qu’il y a de nombreux films dans le genre “fantastique” ou “épique” qui sont sortis et, même si l’histoire est toujours plus ou moins intéressant, qui n’évoquent pas ce sentiment de film “épique”. Je ne ressens plus la chair de poule en voyant de vastes armées s’affronter sur des terrains de bataille, je n’ai plus les larmes aux yeux quand les magiciens utilisent leur magie, ça ne me touche plus.
“C’est étrange quand même” me disais-je, pourquoi est ce que c’est comme ça? Est ce que les films sont vraiment si pitoyables? Est ce que je ne suis plus attiré par le genre? Rien de ça, le genre m’attire toujours, sauf qu’a chaque fois que j’en vois un, je m’attends à voir quelque chose d’aussi intense, aussi émouvant et aussi épique que le Seigneur Des Anneaux.
En voyant un film “fantastique”, je me demandes “comment est ce que c’est possible d’avoir un scénario qui en vaut la peine si ça doit rentrer dans 1H30?”. Ils me paraissent pitoyables et sans substance, non pas parce qu’ils sont pires qu’avant, mais parce que mes attentes sont plus hautes.
Tout ça, c’est la faute à Peter Jackson.
J’aurais dû attendre d’avoir 80 ans pour regarder le Seigneur Des Anneaux, je suis sûr que j’aurais été une personne plus heureux et accompli.

Une des choses qui est bien à propose d’Imperial, c’est que assez souvent il y a des gens qui excellent dans leur domaine qui viennent visiter et faire des présentations. C’est des gens qui travaillent pour IBM, Google, Morgan-Stanley etc… Et donc c’est souvent assez intéressant. Bon, c’est sûr, parfois il faut faire le tri, il y a certains sujets qui les premières-années ne vont pas vraiment comprendre, donc c’est mieux d’aller faire autre chose. Dormir par exemple.
L’autre jour il y a quelqu’un de IBM qui est venu, je ne me rappelles plus de son nom mais il avait deux titres assez impressionnantes; Maître Inventeur et Ingénieur IBM Distingué. ça pète, non?
Bon, le sujet de sa présentation était l’intégration de l’informatique dans des services quotidiens pour rendre ces services plus intelligents. Par exemple, il a attaché un ordi à son compteur d’électricité, l’ordi relève des données toutes les 30s et les sauvegarde dans une base de données. Ces données sont ensuite publiés sur son serveur web sous la forme de statistiques. Ces statistiques sont en temps quasi-réel donc toute à droite du graphique correspond à cet instant précis (à peu près). Il a donc branché un Ambient Orb dessus qu’il a mis dans sa chambre. Plus l’orbe est rouge, plus il consomme d’électricité et donc il sait en allant se coucher si oui ou non il a laissé quoique ce soit allumé.
Il a fait plein d’autres applications comme ça, surtout dans le domaine industriel.
Par contre, comme tout geek, il a aussi fait des trucs un peu étranges, mais tellement drôles. Dans sa maison il a un problème de souris, donc il a des pièges à souris. Normale. Sauf que, si les pièges sont au grenier, le seul moyen de savoir s’ils fonctionnent c’est d’aller vérifier, et ça c’est chiant. Il a donc intégré le piège dans un circuit électrique, un circuit qui est brisé lorsque le piège se déclenche. Un ordinateur qui surveille ce petit réseau électrique détecte que le circuit est brisé et envoi un sms sur le portable.
Mais, ça ne s’arrête pas là! Le problème avec les pièges à souris, c’est que si on les laisse longtemps, le fromage se pourrit et les souris n’y toucheront pas. Le piège devient donc inutile. Encore une fois on se retrouve obligés d’aller vérifier si oui ou non le fromage s’est pourri, et le changer si nécessaire. C’est nul.
Le fromage est quelque chose d’assez ordinaire, assez humide et qui à tendance à pourrir assez vite si on le laisse au chaud. Plus le fromage pourrit, plus il y a d’humidité. Il a donc décidé de mesurer la résistivité du fromage à des intervalles pré-établies pour déterminer l’état du fromage. Une fois la résistivité passée en dessous d’un certain seuil, le fromage est considéré comme pourri et l’ordinateur lui envoie un sms disant qu’il est temps de le changer.
Même si ces applications sont un peu domestiques, c’est ce genre de truc qui m’inspire. L’intégration de l’informatique dans la vie de tous les jours pour rendre nôtre vie plus “intelligente”, c’est géniale.

Perdre un chat dans un endroit paumé a un enorme avantage: le chat ne peut pas se tirer de cet endroit paumé par ces propres moyens.

C’est incroyable la difficulté que l’on peut avoir à récuperer des sous de la part des gens, qui qu’ils soit d’ailleur.

C’est le premier post de l’année 2008, Bonne année PPGAC, longue vie à toi. Plein plein plein plein de trucs débiles et inutiles je te souhaite. Mais surtout de devenir une entité qui ne sert pas qu’a deblatérer de idioties. Vive The PPGAC enterprise. Que les fêtes célébrées en ton nom soient toujours aussi pétillantes (mais qu’elles fassent moins mal au ventre (comprendra qui était là, mais ne raconté pas, je veut garder ça pour moi (oh, trop de rimes !!))). Donc voilà,PPGAC, je te souhaite une bonne santé et de bon stats. Mais surtout étend toi confortablement sur le canapé et t’en fait pas pour le chat.
