Je m’aperçois en grandissant que tôt ou tard, tout le monde finit par écouter (et aimer accessoirement) la musique qu’écoutaient leurs parents. Je me suis toujours dit que ça ne pouvait pas être le cas, que j’aimais de la musique “nouvelle” et “innovatrice”, et voilà que maintenant je me retrouves en train d’écouter “Breakfast In America” de Supertramp en boucle.

En faite, la grande découverte c’est que ce n’est pas nouveau, je me souviens de nos délires en écoutant Steelers Wheel, ou encore The George Baker Selection. Et même la musique contemporaine (j’utilise le terme dans son vrai sens : “de nos jours”, pas dans le sens artistique : “un urinoir”) a de fortes ressemblances à la musique des années 70/80.
Une partie de moi me dit qu’en faite ça n’a rien à voir avec le fait que ce soit la musique qu’écoutait nos parents, mais c’est plutôt parce que la musique est tout simplement excellente. Au fur à mesure que nous vivons, nous allons entendre beaucoup de nouvelles musiques, mais que celles qui nous plaisent vraiment vont réussir à survivre l’épreuve du temps.
Nos enfants (bon, d’accord, vos enfants) vont sûrement écouter certains des groupes que vous écoutez maintenant, et ça n’a rien à voir avec le fait que ce soit vous qui les écoutiez.
