Alors, je sais que beaucoup d’entre vous veulent un moyen d’écouter de la musique sur ppgac. On pourrait uploader de chansons, créer nos propres playlists, etc…
Moi je suis tout à fait pour, par contre il y a 2 limitations techniques.
La première est un problème technique que je penses avoir résolu, mais je ne peux pas être sûr pour l’instant. Elle est assez technique donc je vous l’épargne.
La deuxième c’est, comment mettre la musique sur le site? Pour moi c’est facile, un petit glisser déposer et hop c’est prêt, mais pour vous c’est autre chose. Les connexions ADSL n’ont malheureusement que des petites bande passantes en ce qui concerne l’envoi (upload) et donc pour envoyer un fichier qui pèse quelques Mo ça devient vite assez chiant, surtout qu’avec les systèmes de réception de fichiers de PHP (le code dans lequel est écrit ppgac) on n’a aucune idée du progrès de l’envoi, on sait même pas si ça a commencé ou si c’est échoué.
Pas super géniale. Il y a divers petites modifs pour rectifier certaines de ces problèmes, mais aucune n’est vraiment satisfaisante.
On a donc 2 choix.
Je peux construire une petite application en Flash qui fera de son mieux pour s’intégrer dans le site. Vu que le lecteur sera en Flash de toutes manières c’est pas une mauvaise idée. Par contre je suis pas sûr de la vitesse à laquelle s’effectuera le transfert.
Ou bien.
Le plus facile pour moi, et le plus sûr niveau performances, ce serait d’utiliser un système FTP. Le problème c’est que vous devrez installer un programme (un client ftp) et vous apprendre à peu près à vous en servir. Ceux qui sont sous OSX n’ont pas forcément besoin d’installer un programme car vous en avez déjà un intégré dans le système (je ne parles pas de la ligne de commande, il est carrément intégré dans le Finder et est très intuitif).
C’est donc à vous de décider mes petits singes. Je ne vais pas commencer à écrire le code tant que j’aurais pas eu de réponse, je suis assez occupé en ce moment.

J’ai pensé à un 3e moyen, tout aussi simple et qui ne nécessitera pas d’installation d’un client (normalement). Il faut dire qu’il y a 3 minutes j’étais au dodo et j’ai rêvé de cette solution alors c’est que théorique pour l’instant.

L’informatique a toujours été un enfant de la science, même quand la programmation a pris une toute autre dimension ça ne s’est jamais vraiment éloigné de cet chose “science”.
Cette matière qui est en faite un enfant d’un accouplement de la logique pure, les maths, l’éléctronique et de la modelisation.
Le tout premier worm lâché sur le net n’était qu’un worm par accident, en faite c’était un choix que le créateur avait pris pour ameliorer le fonctionnement de son programme qui a donné au tout premier worm sa capacité négative. Mais à la base c’était un simple programme pour calculer avec une certaine précision la taille de l’internet.
Il faut préciser que là on est en 2007 et même si la quantité d’ordinateurs connectés directement au net est limité à 4,294,967,296 (ou bien 232) adresses (en théorie, je ne prends pas en compte les adresses de champ privé, multicast ou autre) il existe une quantité bien plus importante d’ordinateurs sur le net qui sont cachés derrière des NAT (une adresse utilisée par plusieurs ordis derrière un router ou autre).
Aujourd’hui écrire un programme qui serait capable de calculer avec précision la taille du net est presque inpensable mais à cette époque c’était faisable car le net était beaucoup plus petit mais aussi était le royaume des scientifiques, le concept de parefeu était expérimentale, la sécurité réseau, même si importante, ne representait pas autant d’importance qu’aujourd’hui.
Ce programme était donc écrit pour des raisons scientifiques par un scientifique, il est donc normale que le code soit écrit de manière scientifique. En faite le worm contenait un code de probabilité, il ne se propagerait vers un autre ordinateur que 14% du temps. C’était une utilisation de la théorie de randomization, et ce code avait été inclu pour éviter justement de saturer le réseau.
En bas de chaque page de ppgac vous verrez désormais un quote tiré de bashfr.org, un site qui maintient une archive d’extraits de chat IRC relativement drôles. En faite pour ne pas “saturer le réseau” avec chaque chargement de page, j’ai employé une petite téchnique, mon code se nourit du flux RSS de bashfr.org, et garde une copie en cache locale pour ne pas le télécharger chaque fois. Les citations extraites du flux RSS sont ajoutés à la base de données de ppgac ou le nombre de fois qu’ils sont affichés est comptabilisé pour que la séléction du quote se fasse de manière aléatoire parmi les quotes les moins affichés. Le cache se rafraîchit à une intervalle respectable, pour faire en sorte qu’on ait les nouvelles quotes mais pour pas envoyer trop de requêtes vers bashfr.
Et puis dans un élan de nostalgie (ou peut être en hommage), j’ai ajouté un petit bout de code qui fait que la fonction de mise à jour du flux ne soit exécuté que 14% du temps.
Tout ça pour avoir des extraits de conversations entre des gens que vous ne connaissez pas qui s’affichent en bas de la page là où personne n’ira les regarder. C’est con, ça sert à rien, mais au moins c’est scientifique.

Hier soir (ou plus précisément ce matin), j’ai effectué un grand nombre de modifs sur nôtre blog. La vous ne remarquerez pas la majorité mais il y en a que oui, dont les commentaires en AJAX et le nouveau panneau d’admin.
Sur un côté moins geek mais toujours aussi pertinent au sujet, tous les posts et articles du blog sont désormais protégés sous une license Creative Commons. Vous pouvez en savoir plus sur cette license en cliquant sur le lien qui se trouve tout en bas de la page dans le carré noir. Je ne penses pas avoir besoin de spécifié le nom du lien, il est assez visible.
Même si ça fait longtemps qu’on a pas eu de spam, j’ai remplacé le moteur qu’on utilisais jusqu’a maintenant (Akismet) par un moteur qui se dénomme Karma. Je ne sais pas si c’est mieux, c’est pas comme si on avait un grand problème de spams, mais il me semble que le créateur de Karma est connu par l’un d’entre nous, ou peut être que je l’ai rêvé. Soit.
Si vous voyez des anomalies dans l’affichage du blog, n’hésitez pas à me gueuler dessus, je testes un nouveau système de cache.

Je détestes le terme blogosphère, et je détestes les gens qui disent que le WEB 2.0 va révolutionner les médias. Vous êtes allés sur Youtube récémment? Vous avez vu le niveau intellectuel des commentaires? Vous avez vu le niveau intellectuel des vidéos? Je ne dis pas qu’ils sont tous cons, loin de là, de la même manière que je ne dis pas que tous les anglais sont des cons et que les néo-zélandais ne sont pas tous des enculeurs de moutons… Soit.
Et ça c’est le contenu d’un site qui vaut… 1.65 milliard… Wow.
Vous savez ce que je déteste le plus à propos du Web 2.0? C’est que ça donne aux gens trop de pouvoir, c’était bien quand il y avait un minimum de mystère à propos du web. Maintenant n’importe quel boulet peut aller se créer un blog ou une page MySpace et y commettre des horreurs ésthétiques à l’instar des publicités qui donnent envi aux petits japonnais de se suicider.
C’est ça le problème en faite, si tu donnes au Georges du coin le pouvoir de faire n’importe quoi, beh devinez quoi, il va faire n’importe quoi.
Avant c’était bien, il était limité, il pouvait mettre des autocollants sur sa tour, changer ses icônes et mettre des thèmes ultra moches sur XP (qui n’est pas beau à la base alors…)… Puis après il a commencé à faire du Tuning sur son pseudo MSN, c’est à peu près à ce moment là que j’ai arrêté de me connecter et que je me suis remis à utiliser les chans de IRC où tu est bannis si tu dis “lol” ou si tu écris en SMS.
C’était pas suffisant ça? Beh non, ils faut qu’ils viennent polluer le reste du web. Je ne vais pas dire qu’il ne reste pas des sites bien, mais si demain les serveurs de Skyblog disparaissaient, qui le remarquerait?
Après ce que je vais dire, je sais que je vais devoir aller me laver la langue avec du savon mais… MySpace peut servir, je parles des artistes en herbe etc… Bon, c’est vrai, ils pourraient aller sur wordpress.com et avoir un blog gratuit qui a un peu de classe…
Ceci étant dit, le pouvoir communitaire est un pouvoir puissant et il faut s’en servir, on pourrait peut être diviser la communauté en 2 parties, ceux qui écrivent des articles sur Wikipedia et puis les autres seraient mis dans des roues à Hamster géants pour générer de l’éléctricité.
Bien sûr, on peut argumenter en disant que ce blog ne sert à rien, et à ça je répondrais que ça me sert à moi et à mes amis pour rester en contact et que si t’es pas content, beh… le web est grand, alors casse toi ^^. Preuve qu’on a toujours des arguments pour défendre son petit coin de cyberspace, peu importe qui on est. Triste non?

Vous le remarquerez peut être, ou peut être pas, mais le système de PPGAC vient d’être mis à jour, on utilise désormais la version 2.1 de Wordpress.
Il y a un vérifcateur d’orthographe dans l’éditeur visueli et un système d’autosauvguarde des posts en cours d’écriture comme sur gmail. Il y a divers autres améliorations dans le site, et un grand nombre de correctifs de bugs.
En faite, à la base je voulais pas écrire un post là dessus mais j’ai vu qu’il y avait une nouvelle version disponible alors je me suis senti obligé de l’installer. Je vais désormais passer au sujet originale. Je voulais parler un peu de la culture geek.

Je sais que ça a pris beaucoup plus de temps que prévu et j’en suis désolé, mais vous savez comment c’est avec les compangies de télécom… ça traîne et ça traîne… et je perds tout doucement ma santé mentale.
Mais bon, nous voilà de nouveaux en ligne. Et, comme vous l’avez sûrement remarqué, ppgac à un nouveau visage… Beh ouep, vu que ça a passé plusieurs mois hors-ligne j’ai pu décortiquer le site en toute tranquilité.
Ah ouep, l’adresse du blog a encore changé… vers sa propre adresse! Woohoo!

J’ai ajouté quelques nouvelles fonctionalités comme par exemple le système de “tags”. Petite explication, ça permet d’ajouter des étiquettes aux posts les décrivant. Après les tags apparaissent en dessous des posts et aussi dans le nuage de tags dans le menu à droite.
Bon forcément, toute cette beauté à un prix, ça apparaît super moche sous Internet Explorer (même si tout fonctionne comme il faudrait). Mais bon, HEIN QUE CA VOUS FORCERA À ADOPTER DES VRAIS NAVIGATEURS (comme Firefox, Safari, Flock etc…).

Il truc qui m’a lourdé depuis longtemps c’est que la catégorie par défaut ce soit “Faille Spatio-Temporelle”.
J’oubliais tout le temps de la changer, donc je devais éditer mon post pour le rectifier. Mais bon, la catégorie par défaut est générale, donc si j’avais choisi mankyblahblah comme catégorie par défaut, beh ça aurait été la catégorie par défaut de tout le monde. Moyen.
Après avoir longuement réfléchi, j’en a déduit que ça ne pouvait pas être fait par un plugin, le seul moyen serait de modifier la source de WordPress, ce qui est embêtant quand on fait des mises à jour parce que les modifs se perdent ou bien foutent le bordel. Mais bon, dans ma feignéantise absolue, j’en ai déduit que c’était moins chiant de modifier le code de Wordpress tous les 2 ou 3 mois que de devoir penser à modifier la catégorie de mes posts. En plus, la modif est vraiment super petite.
J’ai changé:
'default_category'
en
'default_category_'.$user_ID
J’en ai chié.
Je penses que j’ai bien attribué vos catégories à vos comptes, mais pas sûr, j’ai pas vérifié. Vous n’aurez qu’a me le dire et je le changerais.

Mais c’est finalement là, PPGAC a désormais la fonction de Gallerie Photo
Mouarf.
Les galeries sont accéssibles à partir du lien dans le menu de droite. Et la gestion se fait à partir du menu Photographie dans le panneau d’admin, futé.
Vous avez tous le droits (à part la config au niveau serveur, ça va pas non), alors réfléchissez avant d’éffacer toutes les photos du voisin.
